For a limited time, Meta is partnering with TechSoup to make these glasses available at no cost to U.S. veterans who are blind or severely vision-impaired. If your nonprofit serves this community, please keep reading below.
Detailed responses is a Meta AI accessibility feature that provides richer, contextual audio descriptions of your surroundings. When enabled in the app, you can ask Meta AI to read a menu, describe what you're seeing, including objects, colours and environmental details.

Our Call a Volunteer feature, created in partnership with Be My Eyes, connects blind or low-vision individuals with volunteers who can help describe what you're seeing and help you complete daily tasks. AI glasses can connect you hands-free to sighted volunteers through the Be My Eyes network, available across 21 global markets worldwide. Simply say "Hey Meta, Be My Eyes" to start a call, and volunteers can help you with tasks such as choosing an outfit or adjusting a thermostat.
Keep the chat going with live AI. This feature enables a continuous, hands-free conversation with Meta AI, so there's no need to repeat "Hey Meta". Using the glasses' camera, Meta AI understands your surroundings and offers real-time, context-aware help as you navigate tasks.
AI glasses let you share your point of view through hands-free video calls on Messenger and WhatsApp, using a built-in camera and multi-microphone array so that trusted friends or family can see and hear whatever you'd like to share.
Listen to incoming messages on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or Instagram hands-free and reply instantly using your voice. Ask Meta to send or record voice messages up to one minute, so you stay connected without navigating a screen or keyboard.
Enhanced open-ear speakers in AI glasses from Meta deliver clear, balanced audio without covering your ears. With these AI glasses, you can listen to music, hear Meta AI guidance and get notification alerts from WhatsApp or Messenger, all while staying aware of your surroundings.
Manage or delete photos, videos and voice interactions at any time in the Meta View app or Account Center, or power down the glasses to ensure complete privacy. Check the Meta privacy page for more details.
Each recipient nonprofit will receive the number of complete Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses kits, including the glasses, charging case, and getting-started materials, to distribute to all the blinded veterans in their community.
Blinded Veterans Association has created Train-the-Trainer resources to help your team guide recipients through setting up and using their Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses.

Applicants must be verified TechSoup members and meet the eligibility requirements. Organizations can request up to 100 devices through the standard application. If your organization is able to distribute a larger volume, you can request more during the application process.

This program is capped at 130,000 units of Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1) AI glasses. Eligible organizations may request an unlimited number of products, but fulfillment is subject to availability, TechSoup validation, and the overall program cap.
Organizations with annual operating budgets of any size are eligible.
This program is available only to U.S. organizations recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt charitable organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Individuals and for-profit entities are not eligible.
Eligible organizations must support blind, blinded, visually impaired, or low-vision U.S. veterans. Organizations should be able to demonstrate their qualifying mission or programs through their mission statement, program descriptions, website, annual report, Form 990, or other materials reasonably requested by TechSoup or Meta. Eligible organizations may include nonprofits that provide accessibility services, independence training, adaptive technology support, rehabilitation support, peer support, workforce development, education, or related charitable services for blind and low-vision U.S. veterans.
Organizations in U.S. territories are not eligible.
Organizations must comply with the TechSoup Anti-Discrimination Policy.
All requests are subject to a secondary eligibility review to verify that the organization meets the program's eligibility criteria. Meta and/or TechSoup reserve the right to deny a donation request at any time. Products will be distributed to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals. Donated products may not be resold, redistributed for value, used in commercial service offerings, bundled with paid services, or used to generate profit. Donated products may be used only by eligible recipient organizations in connection with charitable programs serving blind, blinded, visually impaired, or low-vision U.S. veterans. Donated products may not be used for personal, recreational, commercial, promotional, or non-charitable purposes unrelated to those programs.
Recipient organizations are responsible for: (a) completing a train-the-trainer course relating to the use of the Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses and providing the training to all recipient individuals, and (b) ensuring that use of donated products is consistent with applicable law and applicable product terms, safety information, privacy notices, community standards, and other policies provided by Meta, Ray-Ban, EssilorLuxottica, or their affiliates, including but not limited to, those available here. Recipient organizations must not represent that Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses are a medical device or a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, mobility training, orientation and mobility services, assistive technology assessment, or other professional services. This program is independent of Meta’s distribution, promotion, or sale of medical devices and participation will not be used to influence, induce, or reward the promotion, purchase, coverage, or use of any medical device. Recipient organizations must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including laws relating to privacy, accessibility, healthcare fraud and abuse, consumer protection, export controls, sanctions, anti-corruption, and product use.
Donated products are subject to availability and may be substituted, modified, discontinued, or withdrawn from the program at any time. Any warranty, return, repair, replacement, or support rights are limited to those provided with the product. Recipient organizations shall complete and distribute to each end user a donation letter or similar documentation in the format provided by TechSoup upon delivery of the donated products for warranty purposes.
Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Meta for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial.
