Who's Eligible?

This program is available to U.S. IRS tax-exempt organizations in the following subsections:

501(c)(1): Federal corporations chartered by Congress (e.g., federal credit unions)

501(c)(8): Fraternal beneficiary societies

501(c)(9): Voluntary employees' beneficiary associations (VEBAs)

501(c)(11): Teachers' retirement fund associations

501(c)(12): Cooperative utilities and mutual ditch/irrigation companies

501(c)(14): State-chartered credit unions and mutual reserve funds

501(c)(15): Mutual insurance companies or associations

Are you a 501(c)(3)? You can access AWS Credit Grant offers through TechSoup's 501(c)(3) program.

Additional Rules:

One grant per year ($5,000 in AWS credits, fiscal year July 1 – June 30).
Credits are organizational only. They cannot be transferred or resold.
Must agree to AWS Terms and Conditions.
The administrative fee is nonrefundable.

What can AWS credits be used for?

AWS credits can be used for hundreds of eligible services, including:

Compute: Amazon EC2 for virtual servers and scalable computing power
Storage: Amazon S3, EBS, and EFS for secure data storage and management
Database: Amazon RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB for relational and NoSQL databases
Analytics: Tools for data processing, reporting, and informed decision-making
Networking: Content delivery, load balancing, and infrastructure services

Credits will not cover AWS Marketplace, Enterprise Support, domain registration, or cryptocurrency mining services.

Do I need an AWS account?

Yes, you need a valid AWS account to apply the credits. If you don't have one, you can sign up for free at AWS.com. A credit card is required to open an AWS account. New customers can also benefit from the AWS Free Tier for 12 months following sign-up.

How soon will credits be available?

Once you're registered and your eligibility is verified, you'll receive instructions within 24 hours. After payment is received, TechSoup will send your AWS credit codes and redemption instructions within 48 hours. You can start using AWS services immediately after redeeming your codes.

Can existing AWS customers apply?

Yes! This grant is available to both current and former AWS customers. Credits received through this program can be applied to existing AWS accounts. The $5,000 credit can be used alongside your current services.
